Med Time App (Voice assistant)
Project Overveiw
Med Time is a medicine reminder app to help users taking their medication on time by reminding them via notifications and voice assistant. The main target will be adults/elderly who have difficulty using their platforms in case of accessibility. We need to find out if the user experience, which is reminding via voice assistant, would be easy for users to be completed.
Design Process
Discover
Understanding the user and problem space
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I'm designing for and their needs. A primary user group identified through research were retired adults and elderly who have difficulty using platforms.
During this stage, I interviewed four users to further empathize with their difficulty using platforms without help. By talking to users, I demonstrated user motivations and frustrations and what they do during using platforms to compelete a task.
Define
Based on the case study, here are the areas I decided to focus on:
The simplicity and easy to use design in all screens
Providing more options for voice assistant such as adjusting its pace
Being able to organize pills at the set up both manual or via voice assistant
Design & Test
Taking the time to draft iterations of screens of the app on paper ensured that the elements that made it to digital wireframes would be well-suited to address user pain points. For the home screen, I prioritized bigger sizes of elements and adding sound effects for some tasks like water sounds to enhance the process of completing each task.
Deliver
An easy to use reminder app with accessibility features such as voice assistant to enhance the user flow.
